Miami Not Airing Tonight (July 17); Return Date Announced

The Real CSI: Miami has captivated audiences by delving into real-life cases investigated in and around Miami. These stories are told from the perspective of forensic scientists working diligently to bring criminals to justice. Recently, the series aired a special two-hour block focusing on the tragic murder of rapper XXXTentacion at the age of 20 and a chilling double homicide at the University of Miami, which claimed the lives of a star linebacker and his girlfriend.

Unfortunately, fans hoping to catch a new episode tonight will be disappointed. CBS has decided not to air The Real CSI: Miami on Wednesday, July 17 at 10 p.m. ET. Instead, the network will broadcast a special program titled 2024 America Decides: Republican Convention. This special event will follow the premiere of Big Brother season 26.

Given that it’s an election year, it’s not uncommon for broadcast networks to interrupt regular programming for political coverage. As the political parties host events and share breaking news about their candidates leading up to Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5, these schedule changes are to be expected. CBS News will also occupy the 10 p.m. slot on Thursday, July 18 for the final day of the convention. Consequently, if you were planning to watch reruns of Fire Country at that time, you’ll need to make other plans.

The good news is that The Real CSI: Miami will return soon. A new episode is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 24 at 10 p.m. ET. The upcoming episode, titled “Out of Thin Air,” revolves around the peculiar death of Alan Jay Abrahamson, a 71-year-old beloved golfer. Abrahamson lived in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, one of the safest places in the state, so his unexpected death shocked the community.

What baffled investigators was that the evidence didn’t add up to a straightforward robbery. The episode will explore how law enforcement pieced together the events leading to Abrahamson’s death and the techniques they used to solve this intricate case.

Fans can also look forward to another new episode on July 31. “Halliburton Horror” will delve into the murder of oil heiress Jill Halliburton Su, who was found dead in her bathtub. During the investigation, detectives discovered unsettling family secrets that contradicted the pristine image the Halliburtons had maintained.
