Micah Plath Asks Barry About Dating After Divorce in “Plathville” Clip

Is Welcome to Plathville star Barry Plath ready to move on following his divorce from Kim? That’s what his son, Micah, wants to know now that Kim has moved on with a new man.

Ahead of the Aug. 13 episode “How Do I Get Rizz?”, TLC shared an exclusive clip with Parade showing a heart-to-heart conversation between Micah, 23, and Barry, 56.

“Once your divorce is finalized and you’re settled into a routine, do you see yourself dating ever?” the younger Plath asked his father in the sneak-peek video.

“I don’t really know,” Barry replied.

“You know, I’m not going to date given my setup, you know, the way the situation is as it is,” he added, hinting at Kim dating Ken Palmer despite their divorce not being finalized. “But, OK, say that changes…I have no clue what that looks like.”

That’s when Micah made a surprising confession to his dad. “I will say this, though. I get a lot of people messaging me on social media wanting me to set them up with you,” he shared.

Speaking to one of the show’s producers in a confessional, Barry admitted, “I’ve never experienced a DM. I don’t know when I will experience a DM, right, because I don’t have a social media presence.”

Micah then shared a few tidbits of advice for Barry if/when he decides to create a dating profile. “You would want some good pictures,” he suggested. “You’d want a profile that would help weed people out.”

Micah also suggested that Barry could Google “How do I get rizz?” before elaborating on what the Gen-Z slang term means.

“It’s when you basically know exactly what to say and how to act to make a woman fall for you,” he explained.

After a producer informed Barry that “dope” and “slick” were not, in fact, words the youth of today are still using, the divorced father of nine shared what he might write as a hook for a dating profile.

“I’d want to have something catchy like, ‘He’s got the ABCs down: He’s adventurous, brave and creative.'”

Micah then confessed, “I can’t really imagine him dating because I’ve never thought of that. But he’s a good-looking dude for his age and very fit.”

He added, “And everyone knows he’s quirky. He’s unique.”
