Michael Keaton’s Beetlejuice Spices It Up in ‘Hot Ones’ Parody

In a new Warner Bros. promo for the upcoming movie “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the iconic character Beetlejuice is seen guzzling “the juice is loose” hot sauce. The clip, which parodies the popular talk show “Hot Ones,” features Beetlejuice humorously responding to Michael Keaton’s questions before the actor ultimately walks off the set.

“How long is this gonna take? I gotta get to the spa,” Betelgeuse says in the video, which has been dubbed “Not Ones” in this humorous remake of the Sean Evans-hosted series.

Keaton, attempting to ask the mischievous ghoul a set of serious questions in a manner similar to Evans’ interview style, faces interruptions as Beetlejuice drizzles his ribs with various sauces. These sauces feature labels of the upcoming film’s characters, including Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder. Observant viewers will also notice a comical “Skullville” meter replacing the Scoville scale.

When asked who inspires him, Beetlejuice responds nonchalantly while flinging wings around and smacking his lips. “Napoleon was a pal. [Justin] Bieber, of course, for obvious reasons,” he says. “Caligula was a wild man, gotta say that.”

Keaton’s frustration grows as he asks Beetlejuice a weighty question, “You’ve been haunting this metaphysical astral plane for over 600 years. You ever allowed yourself to contemplate the infinite nature of time?”

“Nope!” Beetlejuice retorts glibly, adding that his ribs are “eerily reminiscent of a guy I ate in Seattle.”

The final straw for Keaton occurs after Beetlejuice farts fire and rudely asks, “Who the hell are you?” Disconcerted, Keaton walks away, abandoning the interview. Beetlejuice, unfazed, continues to chug his hot sauce.

The sequel to the 1988 Tim Burton classic is set to hit theaters on September 6. The new film will see Lydia, played by Ryder, still haunted by Beetlejuice, portrayed by Keaton. The storyline introduces Lydia’s rebellious teenage daughter Astrid, played by Ortega, who discovers a portal to the afterlife, throwing their lives into chaos.
