Michael Strahan has provided an update on his teenage daughter Isabella’s cancer battle.

The Good Morning America personality recently had a conversation with Kevin Jonas on the morning news program. Kevin Jonas opened up about his own health scare with skin cancer after having basal cell carcinoma removed from his face.

Before their segment concluded, the eldest of the Jonas Brothers acknowledged Strahan’s family’s encounter with cancer, as one of his 19-year-old twins battles brain cancer.

“It’s nothing compared to everything you’ve gone through. Is everything alright?” Jonas asked, per Hello.

“Everything is good,” Strahan assured him, adding how he “so appreciate[s]” Jonas’ concern after the guitarist told him, “Please send her our love. We are big fans of your family.”

Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma — the most common type of cancerous brain tumor in children, according to the Mayo Clinic — last October. This type of cancer is rarely seen in someone of Isabella’s age. She quickly underwent emergency surgery before beginning several rounds of chemotherapy.

She documented much of her journey in personal vlogs uploaded to YouTube. Throughout her ordeal, Isabella remained positive, though she underwent two more craniotomies, suffered memory loss, and even missed her 19th birthday as she was unconscious at the time. Last month, she celebrated the completion of her final round of chemo.

Strahan has been a huge source of support for his daughter throughout this challenging time. He missed several weeks of work to be by her side and even helped orchestrate a surprise visit from Isabella’s favorite singer, Bryson Tiller, amid her treatment.

Isabella hasn’t shared a specific update since finishing chemo, so there’s no word yet on whether she’s gone into remission following her surgeries and therapies. However, it sounds like things remain on the upswing, and we’re glad to hear it!
