Michelle Yeoh Stars in ‘Star Trek: Section 31’ Trailer

At San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming movie *Star Trek: Section 31*. The film delves into *Star Trek*’s Section 31, a covert faction of Starfleet dedicated to safeguarding the United Federation of Planets.

Michelle Yeoh headlines the movie as Philippa Georgiou, an Emperor of the Terran Empire. Following an unsuccessful coup, she is transported to the Prime Universe, where she assumes the role of a captain. Soon after, she is recruited by Section 31 to become an operative.

The film builds upon the *Star Trek: Discovery* TV series, where Yeoh’s character was seen captaining the USS Shenzhou. In her new assignment leading the clandestine Starfleet division, Georgiou must protect the planets while also confronting the sins of her past.

Starring alongside Yeoh are Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl, Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Robert Kazinsky, Humberly Gonzalez, and James Hiroyuki Liao. The movie is directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi, with a script penned by Craig Sweeny.

The teaser for the film showcases a series of high-octane scenes, from races through space to Georgiou engaged in hand-to-hand combat.

*Star Trek: Section 31* is set to premiere next year and will be available for streaming on Paramount+.
