Mindy Kaling Shares Heartwarming July 4th Moments With Her Three Kids

Mindy Kaling is savoring the joys of summertime with her three children. The 45-year-old actress and writer took to Instagram to share some heartwarming photos and videos from her idyllic day spent in the sun with her six-year-old daughter Katherine, her three-year-old son Spencer, and her four-month-old daughter Anne.

“A sandy/salty skin/no makeup/freezing cold perfect waves/lots of sunscreen/frosting/outside for hours kind of Independence Day,” Kaling wrote in her Thursday post.

In one selfie, a smiling Kaling is seen wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat paired with a white ribbed swimsuit. The series of images also includes heartening scenes of her older children playing happily in the sand, enjoying homemade cupcakes, and frolicking in the ocean waves.

Additionally, Kaling shared an adorable selfie featuring her baby daughter, Anne. The image captures half of Anne’s little face in profile, showcasing her dark hair, while her tiny hand reaches for her mom’s finger as they take in the serene beach view together.

This tender glimpse into her family’s day comes shortly after Kaling surprised fans at the end of last month by revealing she had secretly welcomed her third child.

“In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined,” Kaling wrote. “When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life. I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!”

Kaling has consistently chosen to keep the identity of her children’s fathers private, previously describing herself as a single parent.

This isn’t the first time Kaling has surprised the public with a secret birth. The star of *The Mindy Project* welcomed her son Spencer in September 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic, when fans hadn’t even known she was pregnant.
