Miranda Lambert Shares Rare Glimpse of ‘Old School’ Marriage with Brendan McLoughlin

Miranda Lambert is reminiscing about her love story with her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.

During a recent appearance on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast, Lambert provided fans with an intimate glimpse into her relationship with McLoughlin. The couple tied the knot in early 2019.

Lambert first encountered McLoughlin, a former NYPD officer, while performing on Good Morning America with her band, the Pistol Annies, in November 2018. McLoughlin was part of the security detail for the show and was later given a ticket to Lambert’s concert that very evening.

“My security invited him; they kind of knew some of the same people, so my security team invited him to the show,” Lambert recalled in a clip from the podcast episode shared on TikTok. “We gave him one ticket, no +1, he came by himself, and we met up after the show.”

“I didn’t even see him before the show. We met up after and hung out and talked,” she explained. “There wasn’t really an agenda. It was just like, ‘Hey, nice to meet you.’ He was super cool; we talked and just kept in touch.”

Lambert disclosed the charming “old school” method they used to stay in touch—by writing “literal letters” to each other.

Bunnie, who is married to country star Jelly Roll, gushed over Lambert’s revelation, calling it “romantic” how the couple initially connected.

“I was like, ‘Do you wanna be pen pals?’ He was like, ‘Write letters with pens?’ I was like, ‘Yeah,'” Lambert, 40, further recalled. “He’s eight years younger, so that was really mind-blowing to him.”

The “Wranglers” singer elaborated on their dynamic, saying, “We just hit it off. We’re very different, but we come from the same background. He’s from a law enforcement and first responder family; our attitudes aligned.”

“And he’s someone in my life who is not a ‘yes’ person. I don’t believe in surrounding yourself with ‘yes’ people at all, and I don’t do that. I don’t think it’s healthy mentally,” she said, describing her husband as “very honest.”

“He’s a harsh New Yorker, and I like that because he just tells it like it is; he doesn’t sugarcoat. He calls me on my sh-t,” she added.

“Love this story ❤️,” commented one fan after seeing Bunnie’s TikTok clip.

“I’m glad she found her person,” added another.
