Mpox Vaccine Arrives in Congo; Officials Report Need for 3 Million Doses

On Thursday, the first shipment of mpox vaccines arrived in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This delivery comes just three weeks after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared mpox outbreaks across 12 African nations as a global emergency.

The shipment includes 100,000 doses of the MVA-BN vaccine, developed by the Danish firm Bavarian Nordic.
