Cristiano Ronaldo has entered a new chapter in his career, amassing one million subscribers in under 90 minutes on his freshly launched YouTube channel.

On Wednesday, August 21, the superstar turned to Instagram to promote his “surprise” YouTube account, urging his followers to “SIUUUbscribe”.

As of this writing, Ronaldo’s channel boasts 14.6 million subscribers and 19 video uploads within just 17 hours, collectively achieving over 40 million views.

One of his most popular uploads features Ronaldo alongside his long-term partner Georgina Rodríguez, intriguingly titled: “Discover EVERYTHING about us. Who will win?”

Fans are ecstatic, but the rapid subscriber growth has also led many to speculate about the future of MrBeast, who currently holds the title of the most-subscribed channel on the platform with 311 million. Enthusiasts are even live-streaming subscriber counts to keep track of Ronaldo’s potential to dethrone MrBeast.

“Ronaldo gaining 15 million subscribers in just one day means it would take him around 21 days to surpass MrBeast in total subscribers,” one user noted on X/Twitter. Another simply added: “Someone check on MrBeast.”

Unsurprisingly, hundreds of memes have taken over social media.

Ronaldo marked this significant milestone with a wholesome clip on Instagram, featuring his children.

“I am very happy to make this project come to life. It has been in my mind for a long time but finally we have the opportunity to make it real,” Ronaldo said in the channel’s launch announcement. “I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so and they will learn more about me, my family and my views on many different subjects. I am looking forward to sharing conversations with guests that will surprise people!”
