Musician, Surfer, and Sasquatch Actor Returns to Metro Detroit for TV Job

Christophe Zajac-Denek, a native of metro Detroit renowned for his varied talents, will be guest-hosting on “Live in the D” this week.

Starting Monday, the actor, musician, and surfer will join Tati Amare, the regular host of the weekday talk and lifestyle show that airs at 11 a.m. on WDIV-TV (Channel 4). He will continue his role through Friday.

Zajac-Denek recently starred in “Sasquatch Sunset,” which is available for streaming. This 4-foot-4 character actor portrayed a young Bigfoot alongside actors Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) and Riley Keough (“Daisy Jones & the Six” miniseries), both of whom also donned full Sasquatch costumes.

In April, he took part in the Freep Film Festival, where he attended screenings of the 10-minute documentary “Standing on Water.” The documentary delves into his life as someone born with a rare form of dwarfism and highlights the confidence he has gained from his love of surfing.

Besides his guest-hosting role, Zajac-Denek will also be playing music on “Live in the D.” He is no stranger to the Detroit music scene, having been the drummer for the rock band the Hard Lessons during the 2000s.

For those who can’t catch it live, “Live in the D” is also available to stream on Local 4+.
