Mykelti Brown Furious Over Garrison’s Death in ‘Sister Wives’ Season 19

Sister Wives star Mykelti Brown Padron is furious that her brother, Garrison Brown’s death is included in Season 19 of the show. Garrison passed away in March 2024, and the family is still grappling with the loss. Mykelti is particularly upset about the show’s decision to use this tragedy in the storyline.

Typically, Sister Wives airs episodes that are about a year behind the current time of the cast members. In Season 19, viewers will watch Christine Brown Woolley’s relationship with David Woolley blossom. The couple got engaged in April 2023 and married in October 2023. The season, premiering on September 15th, will also feature Meri Brown informing Robyn Brown’s children about her move back to Utah, Janelle Brown’s journey of self-discovery, and Robyn and Kody Brown’s ongoing struggles.

However, one event that Mykelti contends should not be part of the season is Garrison Brown’s suicide, which took place in March 2024, months after the season’s filming. A synopsis from Monsters & Critics reads:

“Through the heartbreaking pain, the family navigates this incredible tragedy and comes together to mourn and celebrate his life.”

This revelation surprised Mykelti, as she had assumed that Garrison’s death wouldn’t be part of Season 19 due to the timeline of events. The loss is still so raw that close friends and family have pleaded with TLC not to air Sister Wives.

Expressing her frustration, Mykelti and her husband Tony Padron took to YouTube, voicing their displeasure:

“That’s interesting that they added Garrison in there because, I mean, that shouldn’t be part of this season. This was [filmed], like, two years ago. That timeline doesn’t add up with all their stuff.”

Mykelti is particularly concerned about how her brother’s passing will be portrayed on the show. She wants the focus to be solely on Garrison and his life, devoid of any other drama.

“It’s not about petty grievances, anybody else’s relationship, it’s just about him. So I hope they do him that courtesy and that honor.”

The family did come together to honor Garrison after his passing. However, more details emerged about Garrison’s struggles and how he sought help. Allegedly, Garrison had turned over his firearms to one of his brothers but kept one, which he used. His younger brother, Gabriel, found him at home, making this an incredibly painful event to process. The portrayal of such a personal and heartbreaking moment on television is something that the family hopes will be handled with the utmost respect.
