NBA YoungBoy Fans Disrupt Rapper’s Virtual Court Hearing

YoungBoy Never Broke Again fans hacked the rapper’s virtual court hearing, vocally expressing their support by shouting “free YB!”

On Monday (July 22), YB appeared in a northern Utah courtroom for a hearing related to his ongoing prescription drug fraud case. During the session, several of his fans infiltrated the WebEx stream, repeatedly calling out “free YB!”

“Free YB, man, free YB,” one supporter proclaimed before Judge Spencer Walsh instructed everyone to stay muted. The fan brazenly retorted, “Shut yo b**ch a*s up man, Free YB,” prompting others to join in the vocal disruption.

This hearing, focused on setting YB’s trial date, ultimately resulted in the trial being postponed indefinitely. The delay follows YB’s April arrest for allegedly orchestrating a fraudulent prescription drug ring. The rapper faces multiple charges, including identity theft, forgery, attempting to procure drugs by prescription, possession of controlled substances, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, and unlawful activity patterns.

Initially, YB was allowed to post a bail of $100,000. However, this bail was revoked in May after he was transferred to another prison north of Salt Lake City. The Weber County District Court Judge Joseph Bean issued a no-bail warrant for YB on April 30 due to additional charges, including possession of a firearm by a restricted person and two counts of fraudulently obtaining a prescription. As he was deemed a flight risk, YB continues to remain in custody until a new trial date is set.

NBA YoungBoy had been residing in Utah for the past two years under house arrest while awaiting trial for a federal firearm case in Louisiana. Despite this, authorities claim that he was involved in calling in fraudulent prescriptions with fake patient names and birthdates, using real doctors’ credentials. Friends of the rapper would then allegedly collect the drugs from various pharmacies in the area.
