Netflix Cancels Mauricio Umansky’s ‘Buying Beverly Hills’ After 2 Seasons

Netflix has decided to discontinue one of its popular real estate series. Just two months after the premiere of Season 2 of “Buying Beverly Hills,” the streaming platform announced it will not proceed with a third season of Mauricio Umansky’s reality show.

According to industry insiders, the decision was based on an evaluation of the show’s viewing numbers compared to its production costs.

“Buying Beverly Hills” featured Umansky, who is the estranged husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards. The series depicted his work at The Agency alongside his daughters, Farrah Brittany and Alexia Umansky. The second season also introduced Mauricio’s third daughter, Sophia, as she began her career in real estate.

The show provided a glimpse into the luxury real estate agent’s family life, including his marital issues with his estranged wife and his tense relationship with brother-in-law Rick Hilton. The latter conflict was a significant factor in Mauricio’s choice to establish his own brokerage.

In a trailer for Season 2 released in March, Umansky shared his perspective on his past dealings with Hilton & Hyland. “I think I got kind of f–ked by Hilton & Hyland,” he expressed, adding that he felt underappreciated despite contributing significantly to the company’s success. Mauricio disclosed that the family tension began when Hilton and co-founder Jeff Hyland rejected his proposal for equity and partnership status.

The preview’s release prompted a response from Rick’s daughter, Paris Hilton, who defended her father. She described him as a “consummate gentleman” who “has always taken the higher road” and criticized Umansky for using the Hilton name for promotion.
