Netflix Chief Executive Officer and notable Democratic Party donor Reed Hastings is the latest figure in entertainment to call for President Joe Biden to end his bid for re-election.

“Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous,” Hastings told The New York Times.

In the past, the Netflix boss and his wife, Patty Quillin, have been big supporters of the Democratic Party, donating $20 million to the party. Now, Hastings joins a growing group of leaders in entertainment to call for Biden to “step aside” following his most recent debate with Donald Trump. During the Aspen Ideas Festival, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel said Biden’s debate performance was troubling and largely due to his age.

“Well, I’m pissed off at the founding fathers,” Emanuel said.

“They had the start date of 35 years old, they just didn’t give us the end date. And, well, everybody died [back then], so they didn’t have to give the end date.”

Most recently, Lost Co-Creator Damon Lindelof called for fellow donors to withhold their donations from the Biden-Harris campaign.

“I’ve been asleep at the wheel and it’s time to wake the f—k up,” Lindelof wrote.

“There is a choice before us and the choice is this — Do we leave our pitcher on the mound or do we go to the bullpen for relief?”
