My Hero Academia’s seventh season has taken a brief hiatus due to the 2024 Summer Olympics, which has left anime fans eagerly awaiting the resolution of a major cliffhanger. The last time we saw Class 1-A, they were scattered across various battlefields, engaged in a fierce battle against All For One, Shigaraki, and the League of Villains. However, the primary showdown between Deku and Shigaraki is yet to occur. A new poster for season seven has hinted at this highly anticipated clash.

If you haven’t been keeping up with My Hero Academia’s seventh season, there’s a good reason why Deku hasn’t yet faced Shigaraki. When the heroes’ plan was initiated, almost everything went according to plan, successfully isolating the villains and giving the heroes a tactical advantage. However, a last-minute maneuver by the villainous Toga prevented Izuku Midoriya from confronting Shigaraki directly. Now, the One For All wielder is desperately trying to overcome Nana Shimura’s grandson.

A significant factor in keeping Shigaraki in check has been the teamwork between Eraserhead and the young mimic hero Monoma. By combining their Quirks, they have temporarily halted Shigaraki’s abilities. Despite this, Shigaraki is far from defeated. His body harbors hidden tricks that have even caught Class 1-A off guard. With a power level nearly rivaling All Might’s, Shigaraki has unleashed a flood of giant fingers, posing a grave threat to UA Academy.

Although it has not been officially confirmed that season seven will be the shonen franchise’s last, it is widely speculated that the eighth season might serve as the series’ grand finale. With the manga nearing its conclusion, the My Hero Academia anime still has several significant battles and moments to depict before we witness Deku and his fellow heroes conclude their journey.
