Jeremy Saulnier’s much-anticipated feature, Rebel Ridge, will be available on Netflix from September 6. This action film stars rising British actor Aaron Pierre, who plays a man arriving in a small town to bail out his cousin, only to have his money confiscated by a corrupt local police chief, Sandy Burnne, played by Don Johnson. The character then embarks on a quest to reclaim the funds and seek vengeance. Saulnier, known for his strong presence in genre film-making, is famed for his work on the horror comedy Murder Party (2007), revenge thriller Blue Ruin (2013), horror film Green Room (2015), and Netflix action thriller Hold the Dark (2018).

The next installment of Ryan Murphy’s crime anthology Monsters, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story, premieres on Netflix on September 19. This season retells the harrowing true crime story of the Menéndez brothers, who were convicted of murdering their parents. Erik and Lyle will be portrayed by Cooper Koch and Nicholas Chavez, while Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny take on the roles of their parents, José and Kitty. The first season of this anthology, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, was critically acclaimed and garnered six Emmy nominations.

Launching on September 20, Azazel Jacobs’ emotional drama His Three Daughters features stars Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne as sisters who reunite in their childhood New York City apartment to care for their father during his final days in home hospice care. This film made a strong debut at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival, receiving high critical praise and currently boasting a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 26 reviews, along with solid scores of 80/100 on Metacritic and 3.7 from Letterboxd users.

On September 26, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody headline Netflix’s new rom-com series Nobody Wants This. The series follows Bell’s character, an agnostic podcast host, who unexpectedly meets Brody’s character, a rabbi, at a party. Produced by 20th Television in collaboration with Steven Levitan Productions, the show looks poised to capture audience interest with its fresh and charming narrative.
