Linn Holmes, a rising star in the LA music scene, released her debut EP, “Introducing Linn Holmes,” on July 12. The Swedish singer, who relocated to Los Angeles in 2018 for her studies, found immense inspiration in the city’s musical output, especially from Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks.
Regularly performing at the iconic Whisky A Go Go, Holmes has begun to make a name for herself. The venue, known for hosting legendary acts like the Doors, Janis Joplin, and Led Zeppelin, provided the perfect backdrop for her burgeoning career.
“Introducing Linn Holmes” features four songs that reflect a lighthearted rock vibe, reminiscent of the ’70s music that influenced her. Co-written with Rev. Tom Chandler, the EP boasts an organic sound and includes contributions from musicians Daniel Jakubovic, Derek Frank, Adam Peri, Andrew Benjamin Maldonado, Tom Chandler, Alexy Shant Yeghikian, and Jenny Dang.
Holmes’ latest single, “Baby Blue,” was released on May 31. The track offers a breezy, feel-good vibe that echoes the 70s while maintaining a modern tempo. Produced by Rev Tom Chandler, “Baby Blue” features a rich mix of drums, guitar, piano, and bass played by Daniel Jakubovic, along with electronic elements crafted by Jenny Dang.
Launching her solo career this year, Holmes made an impressive debut with her single “Cut Me” on April 5. The emotionally charged track accumulated 14,000 streams shortly after its release, highlighting her ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with captivating melodies. “Cut Me” explores themes of vulnerability and resilience, showcasing her talent for emotional storytelling through music.
