New Transformers One Poster Unveiled Ahead of Comic-Con Trailer Release

“Transformers One” has just unveiled a brand-new poster as anticipation builds for San Diego Comic-Con. Paramount is buzzing with excitement for this latest addition to their enduring franchise. Just yesterday, members of the press and select fans had the privilege of watching the movie ahead of its release, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

“Transformers One” boasts an impressive lineup of talent including Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, Laurence Fishburne, and Steve Buscemi. These seasoned actors breathe life into our beloved Autobots, presenting a backstory for Optimus Prime and Megatron that’s sure to captivate long-time fans of the series. The newly released poster captures this energy, centering on our heroes with Megatron looming ominously in the background. As an action-focused animated film, viewers can expect some thrilling surprises.

Entertainment Weekly had a chance to catch up with “Transformers One” director Josh Cooley. Reflecting on the legacy of 1986’s “Transformers: The Movie,” Cooley recognized the importance of assembling a dream team for this project. He stressed that securing high-profile names was essential for bringing “Transformers One” to life.

“There’s some amazing voice work done on that movie,” the director told the outlet. “That was one thing I’m still blown away by — they got Orson Welles to voice a character in that film, for his last performance, too. So I knew that we needed to have some heavyweight cast in this film as well.”

Taking on the role of Optimus Prime, particularly after Peter Cullen’s iconic portrayal, was no easy task. Chris Hemsworth had no intention of merely mimicking Cullen’s approach. In discussions with IGN, Cooley explained that the character Orion Pax, who would later become Optimus Prime, has yet to become the hero we’re familiar with. Orion has many lessons to learn before he can lead the Autobots into battle. Despite the high expectations, Hemsworth embraced the challenge, ready to portray a Transformer before he reached that familiar heroism.

“I think like anybody else, there is a level of maturity that we don’t have unless we’ve gone through something and that Orion Pax is definitely that. He’s a character who’s driven but maybe doesn’t do it in the exact right way at first, and he really discovers how to become Optimus and how to earn that,” Cooley said. “That was a big thing with working with Chris as well. Chris Hemsworth was like, having an arc to his character that’s not just, ‘I don’t know anything and now I’m the greatest guy in the world.’ He has to have more of something that is a little bit of a character flaw that he has to overcome.”

Paramount describes “TRANSFORMERS ONE” as the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Once friends who were bonded like brothers, they eventually became sworn enemies, altering the fate of Cybertron forever. This is the first-ever fully CG-animated “Transformers” movie and features a star-studded voice cast including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.
