Nicki Minaj Faces Lawsuit for Slander

A fan of Nicki Minaj, Tameer Peak, has launched a lawsuit against the rapper, claiming reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss. As a member of Minaj’s dedicated fan base, known as the “Barbz,” Peak alleges that Minaj capitalized on his enthusiasm before turning against him. Minaj’s lawyer is confident the lawsuit will be dismissed, as reported by TMZ.

Filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, the lawsuit outlines Peak’s 15-year-long devotion to Minaj, emphasizing his involvement in online fan activities. Peak contends that he has actively promoted Minaj’s work, including her 2023 album “Pink Friday 2,” through social media platforms like X, benefiting Minaj financially. He claims his troubles began in 2017 during what he calls Minaj’s “Nicki hate train phase.”

Peak asserts that during this period, he was mistakenly targeted by Minaj, who accused some fans of being “paid moles” out to sabotage her. He alleges that the ridicule extended beyond social media and into real life. According to the lawsuit, Minaj invited Peak to her hotel during Super Bowl weekend in 2020, only to mock him on an Instagram Live session viewed by 100,000 people. He also claims that Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, physically assaulted him during this encounter.

After this incident, Peak’s standing in the Barb community allegedly deteriorated, supported by various messages and posts. Despite this, he continued engaging online but felt further frustrated when Minaj supposedly mocked him in additional livestreams. Minaj eventually accused him of being a stalker and impersonating members of her team.

Minaj’s lawyer denied many of Peak’s allegations. In a statement to TMZ, he said, “Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail. He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims. He will regret having gone down this disreputable road when he is forced to pay her legal fees as required by California law.”

Peak is seeking $5 million in damages from Minaj. As of now, Minaj and her representatives have not made any public statements regarding the lawsuit.
