Nicki Minaj Plans Tour That Fans of Her Classic Hits Will Love

From 2007 to 2009, Nicki Minaj had a run of mixtapes that included Playtime Is Over, Sucka Free, and Beam Me Up Scotty. These releases were pivotal for Minaj’s career, serving as the lead-up to her classic debut album, 2010’s Pink Friday. It seems Minaj now wants to pay homage to that era with a new tour.

A few days ago, Minaj announced a new leg of the Pink Friday 2 World Tour. On Monday (August 19), Minaj took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask her fans what songs she didn’t perform on the first tour leg that they’d like to see in future shows.

One fan requested the Beam Me Up Scotty track “Envy.” Minaj responded, “We’ll save that for the mixtape tour guys. Another idea I had a while back.”

As it stands, the concept of a mixtape-focused tour seems to be in its early stages, especially with the new Pink Friday 2 World Tour dates taking precedence for Minaj. However, the fact that she has publicly mentioned it on social media indicates she’s seriously considering it.

Interest in Minaj’s mixtapes is far from waning: Beam Me Up Scotty was reissued in 2021, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
