Nicolas Cage’s Son Weston Arrested Months After Mental Health Crisis

Nicolas Cage’s son Weston Cage has been released from jail after being arrested earlier this week.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s fugitives unit arrested Weston Cage on Wednesday morning, executing a felony warrant, officials confirmed to USA TODAY.

The 33-year-old was released on a $150,000 bond two hours later, according to records.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Weston Cage for further comments.

Back in May, TMZ shared photos showing Weston Cage’s mother, Christina Fulton, with injuries on her face. The outlet alleged that these injuries resulted from an altercation between the mother and son. The LAPD later confirmed to People that “a battery report was taken” at the time of the incident.

However, Christina Fulton denied these allegations. In a statement to People, she said, “Weston and I had no argument prior to the incident.”

She further explained, “On Sunday, April 28, I was contacted by several of Weston’s best friends, who were concerned as Weston was experiencing a mental-health crisis. I acted swiftly to ensure his safety.”

Fulton continued, “Upon my arrival, I was met by my son who was clearly in a state of a mental-health breakdown, which turned into a horrific experience. I have always supported helping my son with his mental-health struggles. I am doing all I can to get him the continued support he needs.”

Weston Cage, the eldest son of Nicolas Cage, has appeared alongside his father in various projects, including “Drive Angry,” “Joe,” “Lord of War,” and “211.”

In a 2015 interview with People, Nicolas Cage described his son as a “total artist.”

“He can do things I dream about doing … compose music, sing, act, sculpt and cook, and now he is a loving father,” Nicolas Cage shared. “To see my son with my grandson is as close to a sense of blissful completion I ever had.”

The elder Cage is also father to Kal-El, 18, whom he shares with ex-wife Alice Kim, and 1-year-old daughter August, whom he shares with wife Riko Shibata.
