Nicole Kidman Posts Romantic Anniversary Photo With Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have much to celebrate this year. The acclaimed actress recently took to social media to honor her enduring love for Urban. “Forever ❤️ #happyanniversary,” she wrote on Instagram. In the accompanying photo, Kidman is seen with her eyes closed, leaning back with the ocean as a backdrop while Urban lies next to her, strumming a guitar. The couple, married since 2006, has reached their 18th wedding anniversary and shares two daughters. Many of their celebrity friends weighed in on the heartfelt post.

“This looks like true love ❤️🙌❤️ heavenly 🙌❤️,” commented Naomi Watts. Rita Wilson added, “Love you both. Happy Anniversary, lovers. ❤️.”

Before meeting Keith Urban, Kidman was married to actor Tom Cruise for 11 years. They divorced in 2001 and have two children together. It was four years later that Kidman crossed paths with Urban.

Despite both hailing from Australia, Kidman and Urban first met at a gala in 2005 far from home. Their relationship has endured many ups and downs but has remained strong throughout the years. In an interview with CBS News in 2016, Urban reflected on how their relationship reshaped his life. “Meeting her and getting married wasn’t life-changing, it was life-beginning,” he said. Kidman also opened up about their marital success to PEOPLE. “I think it’s knowing that you have to keep contributing to what we call the ‘us.’ You go, ‘Does this work for us?’ ” she explained. “When you make an us, it’s yours together — that’s what you create.”

The early days of their marriage were challenging. Urban grappled with addiction during the honeymoon phase, but Kidman’s unwavering support made a significant difference. At a gala in April 2024, Urban recounted, “We got married in June 2006 and barely four months into our marriage, my addictions … that I’d done really nothing about, blew our marriage to smithereens.”

“Four months into a marriage, I’m in rehab for three months. I had no idea what was going to happen to us … and if you want to see what love in action really looks like, give that a whirl. Nic pushed through every negative voice, I’m sure even some of her own, and she chose love. And here we are tonight, 18 years later,” he added.
