Nikki Garcia Speaks Out After Husband Artem’s Arrest

Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev was arrested in California yesterday on domestic violence charges. Since the news surfaced, fans have been eagerly waiting to hear from his family. His wife, Nikki Garcia, has now made a public statement regarding the situation.

Nikki Garcia, previously known by her stage name Nikki Bella, met Artem Chigvintsev on the set of Dancing With The Stars Season 25. The two fell in love and eventually welcomed a son named Matteo. They tied the knot in 2022.

“This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time,” a representative for Nikki Garcia shared with Us Weekly.

The publication notes that police apprehended Artem Chigvintsev on charges under section 273.5(a) of the California Penal Code, which pertains to causing injury to a spouse, cohabitant, or fellow parent.

It has not been publicly disclosed who Artem allegedly injured, but the arrest report has led many fans to speculate it might have been Nikki. She was in Napa at the time, as indicated by her social media activity. However, this remains purely speculation until more is revealed by the authorities.

New information is still coming to light, but a 911 call reveals that Artem claimed Nikki was throwing shoes at him.

Former pro Cheryl Burke, however, spoke out about Artem’s arrest on TikTok. Cheryl, who grew up with Artem, never thought he was capable of violent behavior.

“My heart goes out to everyone involved. This is really hard for me because he is my family, and I don’t know what to say other than I hope everybody’s okay,” Cheryl stated. “Domestic violence and Artem don’t really … that’s why it’s so shocking.”
