Nikki Garcia Speaks Out on Husband Artem Chigvintsev’s Arrest

WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia, formerly known as Nikki Bella, broke her silence after her husband, former Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev, was arrested on domestic violence charges earlier this week.

“This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time,” a representative for Garcia shared with Us Weekly in a statement released on Friday, August 30.

Chigvintsev was charged with felony domestic violence on Thursday, August 29, and released on a $25,000 bond, according to online jail records. A conviction can be classified as either a misdemeanor or felony, potentially resulting in up to four years in state prison and a maximum fine of $6,000.

Garcia and Chigvintsev share a 4-year-old son and had just celebrated their second wedding anniversary days before his arrest.

“Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life without you. You are my everything ❤️,” Chigvintsev wrote in an Instagram post featuring two of the couple’s wedding photos.

“Happy Anniversary Click 🥹❤️‍🔥💋 Love you so much!” Garcia commented on the post.

Garcia also shared an Instagram post featuring a video celebrating the couple’s anniversary, accompanied by a caption quoting Elvis Presley’s song ‘Just Can’t Help Falling in Love.’

“This song is our love story. I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem,” Garcia wrote. “Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on. And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be. Happy Anniversary @theartemc. I love you!”
