Nikki Garcia Vows to Keep Any Issues with Artem Chigvintsev Private

Nikki Garcia, also known as Nikki Bella, is making headlines this week, although not for the reasons you might expect. The 40-year-old former WWE star co-hosted Netflix’s live Labor Day event, Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef, alongside Rob Riggle in Las Vegas.

Garcia made a stylish appearance, dressed in a chic, monochromatic outfit featuring form-fitting red pants and a matching vest. “Thank you, everyone, I’m so happy to be here,” she began the show on Sept. 2. A fan in the audience expressed their love for her, to which Garcia warmly responded, “I love you, too.” Her public appearance comes shortly after the arrest of her husband, Artem Chigvintsev, for domestic violence on Aug. 29 in Napa, California.

According to the Associated Press, the Dancing With the Stars professional was charged with felony domestic violence and was released on $25,000 bail the same day. On Aug. 30, a representative for Garcia told E! News, “This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time.” True to that statement, Garcia maintained a professional demeanor on live TV, focusing solely on her role and avoiding anything related to her personal life.

During the Netflix special, Garcia did not wear her wedding ring. She was also seen without it while boarding a private plane from Oakland to Las Vegas on Saturday, accompanied by her four-year-old son, Matteo, whom she shares with Chigvintsev. Friends close to the estranged couple told TMZ that the news of the arrest was “shocking but not shocking,” indicating that Garcia would prefer to keep this matter private and away from media scrutiny.

Chigvintsev has reportedly vacated their Napa Valley home, while Garcia and their son continue to live there. The matter will now proceed through the courts, though no hearing date has been set yet. Chigvintsev was not scheduled to participate in the fall season of Dancing With the Stars, so his legal issues won’t affect the upcoming 33rd season on ABC.
