Noel Gallagher Discusses Liam Fight in First Interview Since Oasis Reunion

With Oasis tour tickets set to go on sale, Noel Gallagher has addressed his fall-out with brother Liam in what is being dubbed as his “first interview” since their much-anticipated reunion was announced.

Earlier this week, the iconic band revealed they would be performing 14 shows in the UK and Ireland in 2025. The high demand for tickets led to the addition of three additional shows to their schedule. Despite the flurry of fan speculation, the band has also confirmed they will not be appearing at Glastonbury next summer.

On Thursday (29 August), a lucky fan had a chance encounter with Noel while shopping in London, further fueling the Oasis fever. Steve Sheward, who was with his four children, stumbled upon Noel during the outing. In a video that quickly went viral, Sheward is seen telling his children that Noel was part of “dad’s legendary band.”

One of Sheward’s daughters asked, “Wait – is he getting back with his brother?” Following this question, another of Sheward’s children queried Noel about the reason behind his fall-out with Liam. Noel, known for his quick wit, responded, “Why did I fall out with him? ‘Cause he stole my teddy bear,” to which the boy replied skeptically, “You’re lying.” Noel then humorously insisted, “I’m not lying – he stole it in 1978.”

The exchange didn’t stop there. Laughter ensued when one of the youngsters, still doubtful of Noel’s response, said to him, “You’re fake – see ya.” Noel later continued to chat with Sheward’s children while walking down the street after leaving the shop.

Fan account Oasis Mania shared the delightful interaction on X/Twitter, dubbing it “Noel Gallagher’s first ‘interview’ since the announcement of the Oasis Reunion.”

The reunion shows will mark the first time the Gallagher brothers have performed together since their split in 2009. Tickets for the concerts will go on general sale on Saturday, 31 August. However, fans are required to enter a pre-sale ballot to be eligible to purchase tickets. Notably, success in the ballot does not guarantee attendance at the show; tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful entrants will receive pre-sale access information by 5 pm BST.
