O.J. Simpson lives on… in the form of jewelry containing his ashes.
Malcolm LaVergne, O.J.’s longtime lawyer and now executor of his estate, tells TMZ that Simpson’s remains have been transformed into cremation jewelry, which was divided among his four adult children.
Simpson was cremated back in April following his death, and his children approved the idea of turning their father’s ashes into an assortment of jewelry pieces. Malcolm, as the executor, also had to provide written consent for this process.
While Malcolm didn’t specify what kind of jewelry the children received, it is typically necklaces or bracelets with miniature urns as pendants.
Malcolm stated he did not receive any of the jewelry as he wasn’t interested. The jewelry was shared among Arnelle, Jason, Sydney, and Justin Simpson.
The process of transforming Simpson’s remains into jewelry came at a total cost of $4,243.06. This amount covered the cremation, the jewelry, and death certificates.
As previously reported, Malcolm is attempting to liquidate most, if not all, of O.J.’s assets to address the substantial debt left behind, including tens of millions still owed to the Goldman family.
