Oasis Teases More Tour Dates Following Criticism of Ticket Prices

Oasis fans braced themselves for a chaotic Saturday morning as tickets for the band’s reunion tour went on sale. Within moments, tickets sold out at record-breaking speeds. Those lucky enough to secure tickets took to social media to express their excitement. Unfortunately, many others faced website crashes, long queuing times, and high prices caused by ‘dynamic pricing.’

Reports suggest that no additional UK dates will be added to the Live 25 tour. However, a hint of US dates emerged when a billboard appeared in New York’s Time Square on 2 September. The ad from Amazon Music stated: “If we need to put up a billboard to get you guys to come to the States, here it is.”

The band shared footage of the billboard on their Instagram Stories, adding an eyes emoji and a link that directed fans to their “Definitely Maybe” album.

Meanwhile, fans expressed frustration over the high ticket prices, which ranged from £148 to £355 on Ticketmaster due to demand.

Sir Keir Starmer addressed the issue, saying the government will take action, emphasizing that it’s not just an Oasis problem. Speaking on BBC Radio 5’s Matt Chorley show, he said: “This is a problem for tickets for all sorts of events, where people go online immediately and, within seconds or minutes, all the tickets are gone, and prices skyrocket, making them unaffordable for many.”

“We have to address this,” he added. “We’re consulting on this matter. There are various measures we can and should implement to ensure families can afford to attend events. We’ll ensure tickets are available at prices people can actually afford.”
