‘Ocean Phenomena’ Show; Mounts Botanical Garden; Piano Concert at Flagler

There’s an astounding variety of arts and cultural events and experiences to enjoy here in the Palm Beaches! Here to help you with three ideas for the coming week is the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, the official support agency for arts and culture in Florida’s Cultural Capital.

For more to enjoy and experience, explore the Council’s online events calendar.

Go out with friends and family while enjoying a visit to the Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach! Enjoy the exhibitions on display, including “Ocean Phenomena: Sea Stories, Sea Level Chronicles and Wisdom of the Waves” which features the work of artist Jane Baldridge. Her paintings and mannequin sculptures spotlight the topics of beach erosion, subsidence and rising tides on shores across the globe. Go and see it in person!

“Ocean Phenomena: Sea Stories, Sea Level Chronicles and Wisdom of the Waves”: On display through Sept. 28. Cornell Art Museum, 51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach. Info: 561-654-2220 or delrayoldschoolsquare.com/cornell.

Everyone needs time to take inventory of their lives, re-adjust and find peace in the small moments that come to us so infrequently. Take the first step and surround yourself with some of Florida’s most natural form of culture — horticulture — along the winding paths of Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach.

Visit Mounts Botanical Garden: Regular admission is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors, college students and military with ID; $7 for children ages 6-17; and free for children under 6. Mounts Botanical Garden, 531 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach. Info: 561-233-1757 or mounts.org.

Explore the Gilded Age up close and see original art, furniture and decorations of Henry Flagler’s Whitehall this weekend with a limited-time musical twist! On select Sundays from Sept. 1 through Nov. 24, the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum will offer guests the delightful sounds of local musicians playing Gilded Age music on one of two of the museum’s historic instruments — a 1901 piano and a 1902 organ. A true delight for history and music fans both!

Organ & Piano Demonstrations: Starts this Sunday, Sept.1 at 3:30 p.m. and continues each Sunday through Nov. 24. Free with general admission ($28 for adults 13 and older, $14 for children ages 6-12, free for children 5 and under). Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, 1 Whitehall Way, Palm Beach. Info: 561-655-2833 or flaglermuseum.us.
