Ohio woman needs 9 stitches after being hit by flying Hulk Hogan beer can

A woman was injured after being struck by a Hulk Hogan Real American Beer can at a promotional event in Ohio. The legendary professional wrestler was in Medina Township, about 20 miles northwest of Akron, to promote his beer brand, which launched in early June. This town was one of several stops along a 17-state tour aimed at distributing the “easy-drinking light lager.”

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Monday at Thirsty Cowboy, a local music venue. The 50-year-old woman was hit and fell to the ground when the beer can flew through the air. Witnesses had differing accounts of how the can was thrown. Some said Hulk Hogan himself threw the beer, while others claimed a crew member was responsible, throwing cans from the stage like a “baseball pitch.”

Due to these conflicting reports, no arrests were made, and police are continuing to investigate the incident. The injured woman required nine stitches to treat her wounds. Attempts to reach the Medina Township Police Department and Real American Beer for comment have yet to be answered.

Since its launch, Real American Beer has been marketed as a “meticulously” brewed light lager made with 100% North American ingredients. With a 4.2% alcohol by volume, the beer boasts a rich golden hue and a well-balanced taste. Hogan expressed excitement in a June news release about being able to introduce the beer to fans and beer enthusiasts. Supermarket chains like Albertsons, Safeway, Sam’s Club, and Walmart, as well as Total Wine & More and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, carry the product.
