Ozzy Osbourne Apologizes to Britney Spears for Dance Comment

Ozzy Osbourne has extended an apology to pop sensation Britney Spears following remarks he made regarding her dance videos.

The “Toxic” singer sharply responded to the comments made by Osbourne and his family on their podcast, The Osbournes, instructing them to “kindly f*** off.” The family had discussed the clips Spears posts on TikTok and Instagram.

During the episode aired on July 16, Osbourne expressed his frustration, saying he was “fed up” with seeing “poor old Britney Spears” dance “every f***ing day” and described it as “very, very sad.”

His children joined in, with Jack jokingly saying “save Britney,” referencing the viral campaign to end Spears’ conservatorship, and Kelly admitted she felt “sorry” for the singer.

Spears, 42, responded on Instagram in a detailed post, directing her anger at the family, calling them “the most boring family known to mankind” and telling them to “kindly f*** off!”

In a more recent episode of The Osbournes, aired on July 29, Kelly suggested the family apologize to Spears due to the backlash their comments sparked.

“Britney, I really owe you an apology,” said Ozzy, 75. “I’m so sorry for making that comment.”

However, he continued by adding a bit of advice: “It would be better if you didn’t do the same f***ing dance every day. Change a few movements.”

Kelly promptly chimed in, encouraging Spears to “never stop dancing.”

She added, “I love your dancing, it makes you happy and I’m so sorry if any of us offended you.”

Ozzy reiterated his apology, saying, “I really do apologize. I love you and I think you’re beautiful.”

Spears has generally stayed out of the limelight since the end of her 13-year involuntary conservatorship, which placed her estranged father, Jamie Spears, in control of her business and personal life.

In her response to the Osbourne family’s comments, she drew a parallel to actor Kate Beckinsale. Beckinsale had earlier responded to critics calling her “too thin” in comments on an Instagram video where she was dancing.

“I adore Kate Beckinsale especially because she’s from London,” Spears wrote.

She remarked on the harsh comments directed at Beckinsale, noting how people said Beckinsale needed more “age-appropriate content.” She praised Beckinsale’s response, describing it as “badass” when she adorned a mini bow in her hair and looked “literally four years old.”

Spears pointed out that the comments Beckinsale received weren’t as harsh as those saying it was sad she was dancing at her age.

Beckinsale expressed her gratitude for Spears’ support, saying, “Women supporting women is my favourite thing.”
