Padma Lakshmi’s Stripped-Down Video Shows She’s Confident in Her Own Skin

Padma Lakshmi isn’t afraid to show she’s sexy and oh-so confident.

On Aug 14, Lakshmi shared a behind-the-scenes video of her photoshoot with Pirelli. She shared the video with the caption reading, “A while ago you may remember I went to Miami for a secret project. Well I can finally reveal that it was to SHOOT THE PIRELLI CALENDAR!! I was so happy to be reunited with the amazing @ethanjamesgreen who I love working with. The @pirelli calendar is iconic and when I was modeling in Italy in the 90s I’d always wondered what it would be like to be photographed for it. I can’t believe I finally got to tick off a major bucket list item for the 25 year old me. Better late than never!!!”

She added, “Thank you Pirelli for making a dream come true and thank you to the amazing glam team: @tonnegood, @fulviafarolfi, @lucas.a.wilson for making me feel not only safe and cared for, but also beautiful, womanly and totally at home in my own skin. I’m glad I waited until now to do it because I appreciate it so much more. Ladies don’t let anyone ever tell you it’s too late. Your best life and work could just be ahead of you. It’s how I’ve been feeling lately and I hope the same for you.”

We can see videos of her in a sheer, black mesh dress in a studio, showing off her long, long legs. She also shared clips of her in a wet white dress, showing off her confidence and toned physique during the photoshoot. She truly looks so confident, and it’s something we always love to see from her.

Now, this isn’t the first time this has happened (and we’re sure it won’t be the last)! Earlier this year, she told Us Weekly at the launch of her new lingerie, loungewear and bathing suit campaign with Bare Necessities, Lakshmi talked about her newfound love of her sexiness.

“Look, I’m at my sexual peak,” she said. “Let’s just say what it is. I am. And I feel great about that. I don’t care what anybody thinks. I don’t care what my mother thinks unless she’s very supportive.”

And this isn’t exactly a new mindset, because back in 2017, she did tell SheKnows she proudly works hard on her body, and is proud of it.

“I work hard at my body. I have to because I eat so much and I had a baby at age 40, and it’s not easy,” she said. “But I’m happy with the lot I have. I just think we are so afraid of everything that’s not exactly fitting a very narrow parameter of what we think is attractive and acceptable. The sexual politics of that are very complicated. I feel good about what I look like, and I don’t care if people judge me or anything else.”
