Pamela Anderson Shares Her Amazing Transformation Going Makeup-Free

Pamela Anderson, known for her iconic role on Baywatch, has recently redefined her public image by defying societal beauty standards.

In September 2023, the 57-year-old actress surprised fans by appearing makeup-free at The Row show in Paris. Anderson shared with Better Homes and Gardens this week that her decision to go bare-faced has allowed her to feel more authentically herself.

“Going bare-faced marked the beginning of shedding the persona I’d created. What was this cartoon character of myself? That was fun, but I’m not that person anymore,” she explained.

“I started thinking, I want to challenge the concept of beauty and the masks we wear. Once I took the mask off, the whole world felt more open,” she added.

Her makeup-free appearance at Paris Fashion Week sparked mixed reactions. Some critics felt full makeup should be mandatory for such events, while many others applauded her for challenging beauty norms.

“It was a spontaneous decision during Paris Fashion Week—I refused to spend hours in a makeup chair. Instead, I went to the Louvre,” she shared.

“I felt like a freckle-faced kid wearing a big Vivienne Westwood hat. Seeing everything this way was refreshing, and I didn’t expect anyone to notice,” she admitted.

Speaking to Vogue in January, Anderson said the moment felt pivotal, making her feel “very seen.”

In a move aligning with her makeup-free philosophy, Anderson invested in the natural skincare brand Sonsie with her sons Brandon and Dylan in 2023. Anderson shares her two boys with ex-husband Tommy Lee, a member of Mötley Crüe.

“It’s about self-acceptance at this moment,” she told Vogue. “We’ve all tried various things because others were doing it.”

“But I reached a point where I thought, ‘This is it. I just want to be me, keep my skin hydrated, and take care of myself. I don’t want to worry about tomorrow. I want to live and feel good now,'” she said.

As a mother of two, Anderson emphasizes the importance of Sonsie being a natural brand. Her interest in the beauty space goes back to her Baywatch days.

Anderson had long felt overwhelmed by plastic waste in products. “Whether it was shampoo, a pet line, or beauty products, all I saw was plastic waste, and I couldn’t support it,” she noted.
