Paris Hilton’s Four Multi-Million Dollar Engagement Rings

Paris Hilton is joyfully married to Carter Reum, but before finding her lifelong partner, the 43-year-old socialite experienced three other engagements. In 2002, she accepted a proposal from model Jason Shaw, followed by an engagement with Greek socialite Paris Latsis in 2005, and actor Chris Zylka in 2018. However, none of these relationships led to marriage. Each time, Paris chose to end the engagements before walking down the aisle.

Paris eventually found her true love with Carter Reum, a long-term friend. They started dating in 2019, and Carter proposed on a beach in a “tropical paradise” during Paris’ 40th birthday celebration in February 2021.

Paris’ engagement ring from Carter is nothing short of spectacular. Announcing their engagement on Instagram and ParisHilton.com, Paris shared the romantic details of the proposal. “When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it. My love & I have been together since our first date, and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise,” she wrote. “As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee. I said yes—yes to forever.”

The engagement ring is a stunning emerald-cut diamond designed by Jean Dousset, the great-grandson of Louis Cartier. The design was inspired by the vaulted glass ceiling of the Grand Palais. The estimated worth of this one-of-a-kind piece is around $3 million, according to Mike Fried, CEO of Diamond Pro. “It is a masterpiece of design with the hidden halo to go along with the trapezoid three-stone ring style,” he said, adding, “I would say that it has dwarfed the $2 million her last ring was worth.” Olivia Landau, founder of The Clear Cut, estimated a more modest value, ranging from $500,000 to over $1,000,000 for the 10-15ct center stone.

The couple got married at her late grandfather Barron Hilton’s Bel-Air estate in 2021 and are now proud parents to son Phoenix and daughter London.

Previously, Chris Zylka proposed to Paris on a snowy mountaintop during a ski trip to Aspen in 2018. At the time, Paris described herself as “the luckiest girl in the world” as she flaunted her enormous 20-carat diamond ring. This pear-shaped diamond, inspired by her mother’s ring, was estimated to be worth £1.5 million ($1.9 million). Michael Greene, a jewelry designer and diamond expert, shared that Chris wanted to emulate the pear-shaped diamond of Paris’ mother’s ring. Greene said, “The pear-shape really jumped out for him and ultimately for her. He did some fishing, but in the end, it was all him.”

In an interesting turn of events, Paris temporarily lost this engagement ring at a Miami nightclub in March 2018. However, it was recovered by her security team in an ice bucket at another VIP table.

Paris’s engagement with Greek socialite Paris Latsis in 2004 led to her receiving a yellow diamond ring, which she decided to swap for a white diamond. After an eight-month whirlwind romance, she was given a choice of 15 engagement rings and picked a 24-carat emerald-cut diamond flanked by two baguettes. This gem, worth around $4.5 million, was auctioned to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina after they called off their engagement. Paris stated, “I’m sad to announce that I’ve called off my engagement. Over the last couple months, I’ve realized that this is the right decision for me. We remain best of friends, and I’ll always love him.”

Her engagement with model Jason Shaw in 2002 was marked by a pear-shaped diamond set on a yellow gold band, reportedly worth around $1 million. Their engagement ended after only a few months together.
