Patrick Mahomes Reveals Taylor Swift’s Involvement in Chiefs’ Play Design

The Kansas City Chiefs are heading into the 2024 NFL season with an unexpected secret weapon: Taylor Swift!

Three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes recently talked about Swift’s interest in football, even joking—perhaps seriously—that she’s contributing to the team’s play designs.

“She’s really interested in football. She asks many great questions,” the two-time NFL MVP shared in an interview with NBC Sports. “She’s already drawing up plays, so we might have to put one in.”

Whether Mahomes is serious or not, the Chiefs are known for their innovative and fun offensive strategies. It wouldn’t be surprising if we see one of Swift’s plays during a lopsided game.

Mahomes described Swift as “genuine” and “cool” and praised her influence in attracting more female fans to the sport.

“I know being a girl dad how cool it is for me to see these little girls, these daughters and how much they’re loving spending time with their dad watching football.”

As for how the team manages having one of the world’s most famous individuals around without getting distracted, Mahomes credits head coach Andy Reid.

“It starts with Coach Reid,” Mahomes said. “He always says let your personality show, and he wants you to have fun. When you have a guy like Trav dating one of the most famous people in the world, it’s just because he’s such a good dude. It’s true, it’s real. He’s outside the building doing his stuff, but when he’s in the building, he’s working his tail off to be the best of the best.”

As for those plays, perhaps once Swift’s Eras tour wraps up at the end of the year, we might see her move from the suite to the sideline!
