Photos from Post Malone’s Opry Debut

It was a memorable Wednesday night at the Grand Ole Opry, marked by a debut that had the audience buzzing. This wasn’t an introduction for a budding musician, but rather for a global superstar who has already made his mark in the music world. The spotlight was on Post Malone, a nine-time Diamond-certified and GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist.

As he walked to the microphone, facing a sold-out crowd, Post Malone said with a smile, “My name is Austin Richard Post, and I’m here to play some songs tonight with some really amazing folks and friends of mine, and I’m honored to call them friends of mine. And I’m so terrified and beyond honored to be standing right in this spot right here.”

Expressing his gratitude, Malone shared how Brad Paisley had introduced him to the iconic Opry stage. Despite his immense success, the singer admitted to feeling “amazingly grateful and beyond floored.” It was an intriguing sight to see someone of his stature experiencing nerves, a testament to the magic of the Grand Ole Opry. His excitement was contagious, reminiscent of a newcomer just stepping into the circle for the first time.

For a segment fittingly titled “Post Malone and Friends,” Malone brought a twist of country flair to his look, humorously stating he was aiming for a “Kmart George Strait” appearance. He performed alongside several of his newfound friends in the country music scene, including Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery, Brad Paisley, Lainey Wilson, and The War And Treaty.

The special, titled Post Malone & Friends at the Grand Ole Opry, will be showcased as an Opry Live event on Saturday, August 24, available on the Opry’s Facebook and YouTube channels. This performance coincides with Malone’s venture into country music. He has spent over six months in Nashville, dedicated to writing and recording his country album “F-1 Trillion,” which was released on Friday, August 16.
