Pink Gives Heartwarming Backstage Pep Talk to Daughter Willow

Pink and her 13-year-old daughter Willow sang an emotional performance of “What About Us” at the Democratic National Convention on August 22. The live duet left the audience teary-eyed, but a behind-the-scenes moment was even more special.

“It’s been a busy few weeks,” the “Trustfall” singer wrote on Instagram. Along with several photos from her Summer Carnival tour, Pink posted a heartfelt video of a pep talk she gave her daughter before the DNC.

In the clip recorded backstage, Pink leaned into her daughter and encouraged her to “just do your thing” on stage. “Whatever you don’t sing, I will,” she continued. “It’s going to be brilliant. OK?”

“I’ll be ready,” Willow responded with a smile. The exchange highlighted their strong bond and mutual support in preparing for their performance, celebrating Vice President Kamala Harris before she accepted the Democratic nominee for President.

Pink, who shares Willow and son Jameson, 7, with husband Carey Hart, revealed that her daughter was following her dreams of working in musical theater and would no longer be touring with her. In a June TikTok, Pink shared, “This weekend’s shows were Willow’s last few on tour before she takes time away to follow her dreams. I promised I wouldn’t cry. I DID NOT, however, promise I wouldn’t hyperventilate through our hug.” She added, “I’m gonna miss you so much.”

The video featured Pink and Willow, where Pink shared her pride in her daughter’s growth and individuality. “You have your own lane and you want to be in it. And I love that for you,” she told Willow. “I saw a version of you that I didn’t know existed, and it is really wild to watch you grow up and grow out of me.”
