Bebe Rexha described herself as a victim of a “hate crime” after being removed from a Lufthansa flight in Munich, Germany. The singer claimed the incident occurred because she spoke Albanian to a security official.

“I’ve been threatened because I thought the security agent was Albanian,” Rexha explained in an emotional Instagram Stories video. “I spoke to him in Albanian asking where to get my ticket, and now he’s banning me from the flight.”

On Saturday, the singer shared a series of tear-filled clips on the social media platform following the alleged incident. She also reposted an Instagram Story from another user urging the Munich Airport to “investigate the male officer who threatened a woman” for speaking Albanian.

Rexha claimed the security officer refused to provide his name. “But I just found out he works for ATSG, a service company for document control hired by Lufthansa,” she wrote in a subsequent post.

Lufthansa has communicated with the pop star and is conducting an investigation into the alleged incident, as reported by TMZ.

Rexha explained to her followers, “I believe this to be a hate crime because I am Albanian.” Bebe Rexha, born in Brooklyn, New York, has a father from North Macedonia and a mother with Albanian roots.

This “hate crime” allegation comes after Rexha publicly criticized her ex-boyfriend, musician G-Eazy, in June via Instagram. She called him a “stuck up ungrateful loser” and added, “You’re lucky people are liking you again. Cause I could go in on all the horrible things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit.”
