PRB Riders Pass Vibe Check, Share Favorite Country Artists – Zach Tops Rank

Country music and rodeo have long been intertwined. The Western way of life often influences country songs, merging a simple, hard-working lifestyle with smooth melodies for the perfect tune. It’s worth noting that some pop country artists might benefit from spending time on a farm to enhance their lyrics, making them more relatable to listeners.

Given the close connection between cowboys and country music, it’s only fitting to ask Professional Bull Riders (PBR) about their favorite artists. This past weekend, the PBR held team competitions in Nashville, Tennessee. The league’s top team, the Carolina Cowboys, remained undefeated. Before gearing up for the competition, the PBR social media team visited the locker room for a unique question: who’s your favorite country artist?

Cooper Davis started off by naming Zach Top as his favorite, a strong pick in this rapid-fire session. Following Davis, several riders chose George Strait as their number one artist. Cody Johnson’s “Dear Rodeo,” Waylon Jennings, Treaty Oak Revival, Riley Green, and even Megan Moroney were also mentioned.

Derek Kolbaba expressed the difficulty of the question. He said, “Man, that’s a loaded question. New one, I like Zach Top. Zach Top is rank… ‘Use Me,’ ‘I Never Lie.’ Keith Whitley’s gotta kind of be the old school for me, but you just can’t beat a good George Strait song either.”

Another competitor mentioned liking Morgan Wallen but acknowledged that “he’s not really country.” From their varied responses, it’s clear that these professional bull riders have diverse and well-rounded tastes in country music, much like many fans. They’re just like us, except they can endure eight seconds on a bucking bull.

The PBR riders certainly have great music tastes.
