Prime Video Enhances Interface to Help Customers Find Content Faster

Prime Video has initiated a worldwide update of its user interface, aiming to simplify the experience of finding series, movies, and subscription services. The update is designed to make navigating the platform smoother and faster for users.

A blog post from Amazon emphasized that the new look will help customers effortlessly navigate the Prime Video platform and quickly discover content to watch. This is especially relevant as Prime Video continues to expand its collection of originals, like “The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power,” while also offering premium programming from third-party subscription services. With so much available, finding content has sometimes been a challenge.

Kam Keshmiri, VP of Design at Prime Video, said the team is always taking customer feedback into consideration and is aware that many users desire a more intuitive streaming experience. The updated interface aims to present an easy-to-navigate entertainment hub. It allows users to discover new titles, enjoy favorites, and manage add-on subscriptions with just a few clicks.

The blog mentioned that the update seeks to balance offerings available for free with a Prime subscription and the various subscription options attractive to subscribers. Enhanced personalized recommendations, powered by AI, will show users content tailored to their preferences.

Additionally, it will be easier for users to identify movies and series available at no extra cost with their Prime membership, find new blockbusters to rent or buy, and manage add-on subscriptions efficiently. Prime Video also offers more than 650 FAST channels.

A redesigned navigation bar now features tabs for “Home,” “Movies,” “TV Shows,” “Sports,” and “Live TV,” as well as for active add-on subscriptions like Max or Paramount+.

The update also promises more transparency about what requires a separate purchase and what’s included in a Prime subscription. Users can explore content by preferences and categories like “Top 10 in the US” or “Trending Shows.” Prime and add-on subscription logos from third-party services like Starz or Crunchyroll will show on movie or TV show cards to inform users of the programming’s source. If additional payment is required for a title, a yellow shopping bag icon will be displayed, clarifying what is included and what needs to be purchased separately.
