Prince Harry ‘Absolutely Furious and in Tears’ Over Royal Decision

Prince Harry has been at odds with the Royal family since stepping down from Royal duties, but one incident left him “absolutely furious and in tears,” a Royal expert has claimed.

The release of Harry’s memoir, Spare, in January 2023, proved to be the final straw for his brother Prince William and father, King Charles. Shortly after, Harry and his wife Meghan were told to vacate Frogmore Cottage, their UK residence, which had been a wedding gift from the late Queen.

According to Royal expert and author Tom Quinn, speaking to The Mirror, Harry was devastated by the decision, feeling that his father had no right to evict him and that it was a vindictive move. Quinn said: “Harry was absolutely furious and in tears about being evicted from Frogmore he felt his father had no right to do it and that it was purely vindictive.”

The Duke of Sussex reportedly took the decision as a “cruel rejection” from his father, King Charles III, and couldn’t understand why he was being deprived of his Royal residence after choosing to stop being a working Royal.

Mr. Quinn remarked: “Harry took it as a cruel rejection a painful reminder of all that he felt when his father fought with his mother during their long drawn out, painful divorce. Whenever Charles puts his foot down, it seems unfair to Harry who feels that after everything that has happened to him, he should always get whatever he wants whether that be security paid for by the British taxpayer or a luxurious UK home,” reports the Mirror.

Yet, the residence in question is unlikely to stay empty for long. It’s been reported that Charles, aged 75, is nudging his controversy-embroiled brother, Prince Andrew, to leave behind his expansive 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor and settle there instead.

Speaking to the Mirror, Quinn suggested that Harry would likely be unhappy about this turn of events. “However deep the rift with his father and brother, Harry always had hopes that he and Meghan might eventually be allowed to re-establish Frogmore Cottage at Windsor as their UK base,” he commented.

“He will be deeply upset at the prospect of his uncle Prince Andrew moving into Frogmore – a very real prospect as King Charles insists that Andrew cannot continue to live at Royal Lodge, the 30-room mansion on the Windsor estate where Andrew has lived for decades.”

He went on to say: “For King Charles, moving Andrew to Frogmore solves several problems at once. It sends a message to Harry that, as a private citizen and no longer a working royal, he will never be allowed back to Frogmore. It sends a message to Andrew that having disgraced himself, he can no longer expect to live in the grand style. And, finally, it means that a suitably grand residence can be made ready for the royals who really matter – William and Kate. Charles is determined that Royal Lodge is the only residence on the Royal estate at Windsor that is big enough and regal enough for his heir.”
