Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Embark on Major South American Trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning a significant trip to Colombia to meet with Vice President Francia Márquez. Although the specific dates of their visit remain unclear, the trip is likely connected to the inaugural World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence Against Children, slated for November.

During their time in Colombia, Prince Harry and Markle intend to visit several key locations, including Bogotá, Cartagena, and Cali. Vice President Márquez expressed her enthusiasm in a public statement, saying: “As the Vice President of Colombia and Minister of Equality and Equity, I am pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country.”

Márquez elaborated on the couple’s itinerary, noting that they will have the unique opportunity to engage with various local leaders, youth, and women who reflect the aspirations of Colombians dedicated to progress. She added, “In addition to these meaningful interactions, the Duke and Duchess will experience the rich heritage of Colombia.”

One of the focal points of their visit will be the World Ministerial Conference, which shares similar goals with Prince Harry and Markle’s Archewell Foundation. The foundation has recently pivoted to emphasizing the protection of children from cyberbullying and other harmful effects of social media. Márquez stated, “The conference will present a global framework for creating safer physical and virtual spaces, addressing issues such as cyberbullying, online exploitation, and the impact of these threats on mental health. It will offer practical solutions and commitments for countries around the world.” During their visit, the Duke and Duchess, along with the Archewell Foundation, will participate in various activities related to this crucial subject.

Earlier this month, Markle and Prince Harry discussed their increasing focus on mental health during an interview on CBS Sunday Morning. They revealed that their initiative, The Parents Network, had completed a two-year pilot program and is now available to people in the U.S., the U.K., and Canada. The campaign’s slogan, “No Child Lost to Social Media,” aims to provide resources and support to children affected by social media and their parents.

More information about The Parents Network can be found on the Archewell website. The exact date of Prince Harry and Markle’s trip to Colombia is yet to be announced.
