Prince Harry & Meghan Markle May Lose Their Royal Titles Again: Report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently in Colombia, immersing themselves in the local culture as part of their broader philanthropic tour. However, their travels have reportedly caused friction within the royal family, potentially escalating to discussions about their royal titles.

A source for the Express revealed that a “royal family summit” is scheduled to take place at Balmoral Castle during the family’s annual summer retreat. The insider explained, “The Royal Family are meeting at Balmoral to discuss a number of different things, but one of them will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.” These gatherings, though perceived as family holidays, involve pre-arranged meetings discussing the family’s position and future strategies.

Last year marked the first summer without Queen Elizabeth II, prompting the royal family to reflect on her legacy. This year, the agenda reportedly includes plans for moving forward without Harry and Meghan. The duo’s involvement with the Invictus Games and their engagements with international leaders have seemingly become sore points for King Charles II and Prince William. As a result, discussions on the Sussexes’ titles and peerages are expected to be on the table.

Since their departure from royal duties in 2020, the topic of Meghan and Harry’s royal titles has been a constant subject of debate. Tom Quinn, author of “Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle,” mentioned to The Mirror in May that both Charles and William have considered stripping the couple of their titles. Nevertheless, Quinn believes such actions are unlikely due to the potential PR fallout.

“They are terrified this would backfire and make the situation worse,” Quinn explained. “The last thing they want is to give the renegade royals something else to complain about. William and his father know that even without their royal titles, Meghan and Harry would continue to travel the world and likely receive a warm welcome.”

Harry’s Invictus Games have garnered international acclaim, making him and Meghan even more influential on the global stage. Countries are eager to host the event, showing interest irrespective of their royal status. Therefore, while the debate over their titles persists, it is clear that Meghan and Harry will remain prominent figures.
