Prince William and Kate Middleton Intentionally Avoid Prince Harry, Insider Says

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been steadfast partners since they began dating in the early 2000s. Over two decades later, their bond remains strong. The couple has navigated numerous challenges together, including a close relationship with Prince Harry. However, recent years have brought significant changes, notably with Harry and Meghan Markle stepping back from royal duties, leading to strained ties.

According to an insider, the multitude of events in William and Kate’s lives has led them to “consciously” avoid engaging with William’s brother, Harry.

It seems this rift was predictable. Harry’s departure from royal duties in 2020 marked a turning point, altering his relationship with William and Kate permanently. Early this year, the couple faced another significant challenge when Kate was diagnosed with cancer. Consequently, they prioritized her health, and with no signs of reconciliation in sight, an insider revealed they decided to focus on positivity rather than their strained relations with Harry.

“William and Kate are very consciously focusing on positivity and recovery,” a source told OK! Magazine via Mirror, emphasizing their shift away from the negativity associated with their bond with Harry.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward, who has covered the brothers for years, noted to Mirror, “[William’s] relationship with brother Harry upset him more than he would care to admit. But he found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed.”

William and Harry’s estrangement is evident. Despite Harry visiting the UK briefly in February and May, the brothers did not meet.

In recent years, William and Kate have made family their primary focus. Despite increased public appearances by their children, they strive to shield them from excessive public scrutiny. For instance, Princess Charlotte recently attended Wimbledon with Kate, marking only Kate’s second public appearance this year. Likewise, Prince George accompanied William to the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain.

As their children grow, Harry’s presence in the royal family diminishes in necessity. Years ago, losing Harry seemed a more significant blow. However, with William and Kate focused on their children and Kate’s health, maintaining a relationship with Harry appears less critical than before.
