Prince William and Kate Release Statement Days After Surprise Appearance

Just a few days after making a surprise outing at the Balmoral estate over the weekend, Kate Middleton and Prince William, who are still enjoying their summer vacation, have shared a new joint statement to wish Team Great Britain good luck in the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.

Earlier this morning, the prince, 42, and princess, 42, took to Instagram to post a supportive message for Team GB. Written against a navy blue background with white font, the message read, “Looking forward to another few weeks of incredible sport! Wishing the very best luck to our @paralympicsgb_official athletes and all those competing at #Paris2024.” The royals signed the note with their joint initials: “W & C.”

This isn’t the first time the couple have released a personal statement during their summer break. On Monday, August 26, Prince William released a heartfelt message dedicating a tribute to former England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson. Eriksson passed away at the age of 76 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

In a new tweet shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s X (formerly Twitter) page, Prince William wrote, “Sad to hear about the passing of Sven-Göran Eriksson. I met him several times as England manager and was always struck by his charisma and passion for the game. My thoughts are with his family and friends. A true gentleman of the game.” The future monarch signed the note with his initial: “W.”

As their summer vacation slowly comes to an end, Princess Catherine, Prince William and their three kids—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—will soon return to their royal residence in London. Though it’s unclear when the Princess of Wales will make an official return to royal duties due to her cancer diagnosis, Prince William is expected to resume work next month. His first public engagement is set for September 5, when he will visit the Saatchi Gallery in London to view the new exhibition titled “Homelessness: Reframed.”

We always love hearing from the future king and queen.
