Prince William Locks Door for Prince Harry Amid Rift to Avoid More Upset

Prince William is reportedly closing the door on any potential reconciliation with his younger brother, Prince Harry, according to a new report.

“Make no mistake, William is keeping Kate and his family well away from Meghan and Harry. The door of Adelaide Cottage is shut, and there is no way in for Harry and Meghan. William knows that Harry can’t be trusted and doesn’t want any more upset in his family,” former royal butler to Diana, Princess of Wales, Paul Burrell, told Daily Express.

Paul Burrell, who began working for Princess Diana in 1987 and continued until her tragic death in 1997, was also responsible for looking after young Prince William and Prince Harry. In the early 2000s, Burrell wrote a book about their mother, which led to tension between him and the princes. His latest comments suggest that William might agree with some of Burrell’s criticisms of Harry.

Burrell claimed that Prince William now considers Harry to be “background noise” and is probably content never speaking to him again. This sentiment arises from allegations made in Harry’s memoir “Spare,” where he mockingly referred to William’s “bald head” and accused him of physically assaulting him in 2019.

Burrell further stated that Prince William would “explode” if Prince Harry ever made a derogatory remark about the Princess of Wales in a face-to-face meeting. He also mentioned that William has assumed a role similar to that of Prince Philip, “ruling the family” due to King Charles III’s busy schedule.

“William is sensitive; he likes structure and has perseverance. He does not give up easily. His relationship with brother Harry upset him more than he would care to admit. But he found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed,” royal author Ingrid Seward remarked on the ongoing rift between the brothers.

“His father got cancer, and Kate had a serious abdominal operation. Later, it was announced she too had to undergo cancer treatment. William played both mother and father to the children while he carried on with his royal duties supporting the Queen in his father’s absence. The traumas of the past year have made him a stronger person. He has become the kind of man Diana always hoped he would be. Kind, considerate, and able to take on whatever life throws at him,” Seward added.

Reports suggest that Prince William and Prince Harry have not spoken since the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on September 19, 2022. Following King Charles’s cancer diagnosis on February 6, Prince Harry reportedly met with his father. Insiders told OK! Magazine that their conversation lasted anywhere from twelve minutes to one hour.
