Prince William, Princess Kate Congratulate Great Britain’s Olympic Team

Prince William and Princess Kate are sending their congratulations to team Great Britain.

The British royals celebrated the end of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with a special message to their home team. Their clip was introduced by Snoop Dogg and featured appearances by David Beckham and other notable British figures.

“From all of us watching at home, congratulations to team GB,” Kate said.

“Well done on all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all,” William added, showcasing a new beard.

“What an incredible journey! Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart, and passion. You made us all so proud!” the Prince and Princess of Wales captioned the video on social media. “Here’s to celebrating every triumph at @Paris2024 and looking forward to more from @ParalympicsGB later in the summer.”

Great Britain had 327 athletes compete at the Olympics. The country brought home the third-most medals, totaling 65, behind the United States with 126 and China with 91. Great Britain’s medals include 14 gold, 22 silver, and 29 bronze.

Great Britain will also participate in the 2024 Paralympic Games, which kick off on August 28.

While William and Kate did not attend the games in person, the couple has been very active in recent months following the announcement of the princess’ cancer diagnosis in March.

Kate made appearances at Wimbledon last month and Trooping the Colour in June, while William attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour with their children Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 9, in June.

The 2024 Olympics, which concluded on Sunday with the closing ceremony, were star-studded events, frequently spotted by celebrities like Snoop Dogg, John Travolta, Gabrielle Union, Serena Williams, Flavor Flav, Guy Fieri, Ariana Grande, and more.

Tom Cruise, H.E.R., Billie Eilish, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers participated in the closing ceremony festivities on Sunday, marking a patriotic passing of the baton ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics four years from now.
