Princess Diana’s Brother Shares Rare Baby Photo, Making Me Do a Double Take
Charles Spencer recently delighted many with a rare baby photo of Princess Diana, offering a heartwarming glimpse into the late icon’s early life. The 59-year-old author shared an Instagram post featuring newspaper clippings of his parents, including an adorable picture of baby Diana that will surely bring a smile to your face.
In the Instagram post, two large newspaper clips are visible. The first clipping announces, “Lord and Lady Althorp’s third daughter christened.” A closer look reveals an article about Princess Diana’s baptism. Paraphrased, it details that eight-week-old Diana Frances was christened at Sandringham church. The ceremony had a modest attendance, including her godparents and several family members.
The photo accompanying the article is striking. Princess Diana’s mother bears an uncanny resemblance to Diana herself, while their father has a strong likeness to Charles. Another snapshot of Lady Althorp with baby Diana further highlights the family’s strong genetic traits.
This isn’t the first time Spencer has shared cherished family memories. In April, he posted a rare photograph of him and Diana on their first day of school. A follower pointed out their resemblance to a young Princess Charlotte and Prince George—a comparison hard to unsee once mentioned.
Spencer captioned that nostalgic post, “My first day of school, in September 1969: my father took this photograph of me and my sister, Diana, just before he drove us to Silfield, a really lovely primary school in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. The headmistress was Miss Jean Lowe, a warm and thoughtful lady who loved her boys and girls.”
Throughout this summer, Spencer has generously shared more vintage family photos. In June, he honored his late mother by posting a black-and-white image of her from the ’60s. The resemblance between her and Princess Diana was, once again, unmistakable. A commenter succinctly captured the sentiment: “I see your sisters in your mother. Treasure the memories.”
