Princess of Wales enjoys day out with Princess Charlotte and Pippa Middleton

Princess Charlotte appeared to be a proud daughter as she accompanied her mother, the Princess of Wales, who received a standing ovation at Wimbledon on Sunday afternoon. The Princess of Wales attended the final day of the prestigious tennis tournament with her nine-year-old daughter Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton.

The Royal Box at Centre Court at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club was filled with applause as the Princess entered, a crowd that included notable actors such as Tom Cruise, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Julia Roberts. Princess Charlotte was seated between her mother and her aunt, enjoying the thrilling match between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

The three royals looked stylish for their girls’ day out at Wimbledon, dressed in summer outfits and sporting sunglasses. The Princess of Wales glowed in a sophisticated purple dress by Safiyaa while Charlotte looked adorable in a polka-dot frock, and Pippa opted for a floral print dress.

Sunday marked the Princess’s first appearance at the 2024 tournament. Since 2016, she has been the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Earlier, Debbie Jevans, the chair of the All England Club, had expressed hopes that the Princess of Wales would be able to present the trophies due to her role as the club’s patron.

Kensington Palace confirmed the day before the match that the Princess would attend the gentlemen’s singles final on July 14. Sunday was also Catherine’s second official public appearance of the year, having been undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy since late February.

Ahead of her appearance at Trooping the Colour last month, Catherine expressed her hopes to join a few public engagements over the summer. However, she noted she was “not out of the woods yet” and that her treatment would continue for a few more months.

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty,” the Princess wrote in a message shared on June 14. “Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal.”
