Project 2025 Architect Postpones Book with JD Vance Foreword Until After Election

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts has decided to delay the release of his new book, opting to wait until after the upcoming election. This move appears to be aimed at mitigating negative attention surrounding a controversial far-right policy playbook known as Project 2025.

The decision comes as Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance, who wrote the book’s foreword, seeks to distance himself and his running mate from the proposal. Dubbed “Trump’s Project 2025” by the Harris campaign, the content recently gained attention when its details were posted on Amazon.

Roberts explained his decision, stating, “There’s a time for writing, reading, and book tours – and a time to put down the books and go fight like hell to take back our country.” His statement suggests a strategic pivot to focus on the political battle ahead, rather than promoting his book, “Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America.”

Roberts is a prominent figure behind the Project 2025 initiative, which targets institutions such as Ivy League colleges, the FBI, the New York Times, the Department of Education, BlackRock, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The book’s listing describes these entities as proponents of a “corrupt” ideology. JD Vance echoed similar sentiments in his foreword, which The New Republic labeled as “violent.”

Vance’s involvement is notable, given his previous endorsement of Jack Posobiec, a far-right figure associated with neo-Nazi ideology. Vance wrote the foreword for Posobiec’s book, which controversially described leftists as “Unhumans.” This connection raises questions about Vance’s ties to the Heritage Foundation and the authors of Project 2025, which he has previously praised.

Project 2025 itself has been a point of contention. It aims to implement a far-reaching political and social agenda. However, its rollout has faced serious setbacks. Presidential candidate Donald Trump initially tried to distance himself from the plan, and it has been subjected to significant public scrutiny and internal friction. The controversy reached a peak last week when the director of Project 2025 stepped down, following increased opposition from Democratic figures.
